Run for the Warriors

I started running 6 weeks after I had Kip, I tried to get in at least 3 days a week of a good 20 to 30 minutes of jogging. A month or so ago I ran across another Marine Wife's blog who was unfortunately a new widow. She lost her husband in March while he was fighting for our freedom in Afghanistan. In honor of her husband she was signing up and raising money for the Run for the Warriors race. I jumped on board..... it was a win win situation, kept me motivated to run and gave some money to an awesome cause.

So on May 15th I completed my first ever 5k! And I made my goal! My goal was to jog the entire time without stopping to walk and I'm proud to say I did it. I was really slow but I'm going to continue training and hopefully one day bring my time down significantly. My wonderful husband and awesome son came out to cheer me on.

Special Thank You to the Cotton, Dorsey and Tilton Families for their generous donations!

JT Moving Out?

Just like everyone else we have been enjoying the gorgeous spring weather. We usually leave the back door open and let all the fresh air in. This past weekend we had the door open while we were eating breakfast and JT decided to start moving out...... When we were done eating breakfast this is what we saw...

As you can see he brought out all of his beloved things... his bed, my Sperry, a high heel, and Eeyore.... we love him. He lined them up on his own.....

It's About Time...

Well it is about time I actual use this thing..... it been a year! I'm going to start updating at least twice a month. I want to use this to document family events as I am sure it will be great to go back and read years from now! Also for our friends and family.

This past year has been the best yet! Marc and I have been through a year and a half in the Marine Corp with many more to come. Our first move was good ole Stafford, VA in Jan 08 where Marc completed OCS (Officer Candidate School) and TBS (The Basic School)

In Va we started our second year of marriage and met the majority of our Marine Corp family. Marc found out his MOS, Combat Engineer and we were told our first duty station. We got our first choice, Camp Lejeune, NC.

That just about sums up what has been going on. As all of you know we have a little one now, Kip. He is getting so big! His last doc appt. he was in the 90th percentile. He is starting to talk, try to sit up and can stand when we hold his hands. He just got a high chair and started eating peas!

JT!

Meet JT! We recently decided that now was the best time to get a puppy! We decided to get a Pug and stumbled across little JT. He is 8 weeks old today and we are falling in love with him! He is very affectionate and loves attention, just your typical puppy. Marc is very excited to finally be able to have a dog but is a little disappointed that he doesn't get as much time with him with TBS going on. Today is Marc's birthday and Chuck, Marc's dad is visiting this weekend. He took us to Marc's fav restaurant, Outback. Here is a video of JT!
